Oxfordshire to be split into three

Oxfordshire county will be split into three unitary councils as from 1 April 2028 with the abolition of Oxfordshire County Council and creation of North Oxfordshire Council (most of Cherwell and West Oxfordshire District Councils), Greater Oxford (a significantly expanded city council boundary) and Ridgeway Council (most of VoWH and South Oxfordshire plus West Berkshire).

This is the biggest shake-up in Oxfordshire's local government since 1974 and brings multi-level council oversight into single unitaries.
